Once me and my mom were driving home from austin with a carry out pizza and we were held up by a traffic accident where the police had to slowly wave us through one by one past a burning car. I later found out that the burning car contained the parents of a girl that sat across from me on the bus. The mom was burned alive and my mom said she went to the funeral and it was an open casket but it shouldn’t have been. The dad was crippled and I once saw him hobbling around school. I could smell them burning and it smelled like BBQ but really sweet smelling. Like you could tell it wasn’t just a fire, you could smell this sweet cooking meat smell. Anyway. We ate the pizza.

I’ve actually heard this before!

Like, that, on top of the horrible experience of witnessing someone burn alive, you also have to cope with the really disturbing fact that it actually smells kind of good.
